Working Well with a Mental Health Condition

May 12th 2020

I have first-hand experience of Anxiety and Burnout.

Due to Covid 19 Anxiety is on the rise, inside and outside the NHS.

I have struggled with anxiety and still do, but I have learnt how to live well, carrying it alongside, like an uninvited passenger on my life’s journey.

I am the Working Well Doctor -  A Wellbeing Trainer, Speaker and Writer.

I am an NHS trained Occupational Health Doctor and GP.

I am also The Anxious Doctor.

I am writing this blog to support you by sharing lessons from my life, working as a doctor and educator whilst living with chronic anxiety.

The first thing to share is simply this, we are all human, we all struggle.

If you are feeling anxious -  that is OK, you are not alone.

All of us with Anxiety can still live and work well, contribute to our community and live rich, happy lives, using compassion, courage and self-belief.

Stigma is still a huge challenge, especially for doctors. It is tough to put your hand up and admit you have a chronic mental health condition.

So, I decided to do just that. Thanks for listening.
